Alexandra Michot
For Alexandra Michot, gastronomy is a world that extends far beyond the plate. For more than two decades, she has observed and documented its evolution through the people, restaurants, journeys and ideas shaping the contemporary international food scene.
Based in Paris, she has built a long-standing career as a food writer and journalist, with gastronomy, wine and travel at the heart of her work. A former journalist for the French daily Le Figaro, she has also contributed as a freelancer to French and international publications including L’Obs, Elle, Cook_Inc and Fool Magazine.
Today, she is Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Elle à Table, continuing to explore gastronomy through journalism and storytelling, with a perspective that connects food to the cultures, people and places behind it.
Since 2022, Alexandra has also held an important international role as Academy Chair for France for The World’s 50 Best Restaurants. In this position, she oversees the French voting panel of the 50 Best Academy, bringing together professionals and experts from across the gastronomic sector.
Her extensive journalistic experience has allowed her to follow not only restaurants and chefs, but also the wider transformations redefining how we understand food. Her work at Le Figaro was already exploring emerging culinary movements, ingredients and ideas shaping the future of gastronomy.
