For Alexandra Michot, gastronomy is a world that extends far beyond the plate. For more than two decades, she has explored and told stories about food through people, culture, products, craftsmanship and the different perspectives that shape the way we experience and understand taste.
As a freelance food writer and journalist, her work moves between gastronomy and culture, with a particular interest in artisanal savoir-faire and in the personal journeys of the people behind a product, a creation or a gastronomic experience.
Her approach extends beyond journalism. She explores different forms of storytelling and expression around food and has also worked on curating exhibitions that bring together art and food, creating a dialogue between two distinct yet deeply connected creative worlds.
As Academy Chair for France for The World’s 50 Best Restaurants, she is also closely connected to the international restaurant and gastronomic scene, following the people, ideas and transformations that continue to redefine contemporary gastronomy.
