Fine Wines

Oenops Wines, based in Prosotsani, Drama, was founded in 2015 by winemaker Nikos Karatzas, with the aim of showcasing the richness of the Greek vineyard through a modern and unpretentious winemaking approach. A chemical engineer with oenology studies in Bordeaux and extensive experience in the Greek wine industry, Nikos Karatzas founded Oenops around a different philosophy: rather than owning vineyards, the winery focuses on close collaboration with dedicated growers and the search for distinctive terroirs, old vines, and indigenous Greek grape varieties.

At the heart of Oenops lies a pursuit of purity, authenticity, and minimal intervention, allowing each wine to express with precision its variety, place of origin, and vintage.

A distinctive expression of this philosophy is the APLA range, a celebration of simplicity and effortless enjoyment. APLA White, Rosé, and Red are crafted from indigenous Greek grape varieties sourced from different wine-growing regions, combining freshness, fruit, balance, and character.

From the Malagousia, Vidiano, and Assyrtiko of APLA White to the Xinomavro, Limniona, and Mavroudi featured across the range, APLA encapsulates the philosophy of Nikos Karatzas and Oenops: contemporary Greek wines with substance, precision, and, above all, effortless enjoyment.
