La Tour Melas winery is nestled on the slopes of Othry, near the village of Achinos in Phthiotis. The journey began with a deep personal connection to this place, where Mr. Melas’ family owned properties. What began as a vision to create exceptional wines has evolved into a tribute to the unique terroir of the area. Extensive soil and microclimate studies revealed an exceptional compatibility with the selected varieties. It is the complex interplay of Othry’s diverse soils, the Mediterranean climate and the cool winds from the Malia Gulf that give the organic vineyards their distinct aromas and character. The expansion of La Tour Melas, in Nemea, in the Peloponnese, marked an exciting new chapter. There, from the flat alluvial, gravelly soils, next to the historic Fliountas, and at an altitude of 400 meters, the old, autochthonous, pre-phylloxera vines of Agiorgitiko gave birth to the “Old Roots”. What makes the wines of La Tour Melas stand out is our unwavering pursuit of excellence.
Echinos: The terroir is characterized by limestone clay soil rich in small pebbles, which, combined with the Mediterranean climate of the region, offers ideal conditions for the cultivation of vines. The mild winters, the hot summers with the northern and western winds of the evening hours of the summer, create a microclimate particularly favorable for the Cabernet Franc and Merlot varieties, which thrive on the slopes of the vineyard. Nemea, Peloponnese: The autochthonous pre-folioxeric vineyard is located on flat, alluvial, gravelly soil, next to the historic town of Fliounta. The 400-meter altitude gives year-round cool nights.

Terroir
La Tour Melas
Driven by a vision and a passion, in 1979 Costas Lazaridis set out on a journey that would reshape the destiny of his native land. He had a vision that Drama would become a symbol among the world’s renowned wine regions. What started as a modest 10-hectare plot has grown into the Greece’s largest privately owned vineyards, cultivating both native and international grape varieties, from Sauvignon Blanc and Assytiko to Cabernet Sauvignon and Agiorgitiko.
Costas Lazaridi’s passion for the vine went beyond the vineyard. He built Drama’s first state-of-the-art winery, crafted premium distillates and aged balsamics. Later he established the one-of-a-kind Wine Museum-Costa Lazaridi in Attica, preserving and promoting the heritage and stories of winemaking. Costa Lazaridi’s vision to establish Drama as a City of Wine has been fulfilled. Now, a new chapter begins. His sons, Gerasimos and George Lazaridis, are leading the Estates into a new era.
In the heart of the Mantineia wine-growing zone, Troupis Winery celebrates 15 years of creation, having managed to redefine and reintroduce Moschofilero, not only in Greece but also in the international market.
With boldness and experimentation, the boutique winery presented alternative vinifications that illuminated previously unknown aspects of the variety. Thus, Moschofilero ceased to be considered exclusively light and aromatic, acquiring a multidimensional character and the ability to accompany demanding gastronomic creations. The contribution of Troupis Winery to this new reading is decisive, with its work being recognized internationally and placing Mantineia on a map of high standards.

In the small, picturesque village of Thiramona in southern Kefalonia, Nikos Petrakopoulos continues a centuries-old family tradition. Envisioning to put his personal imprint on the cultural and artistic promotion of Kefalonia, he utilizes its unique terroir, the rare local grape varieties and the old, autochthonous pre-phylloxera vineyards of the island. Our basic philosophy is organic farming and the most natural and gentle interventions possible. Based on years of experience, we feel that our practices contribute to the authentic expression of our rare indigenous varieties and to the best capture of the unique terroir of Kefalonia. Gerovassiliou Estate
a vineyard of exemplary cultivation
The Gerovassiliou Estate has been active in the field of viticulture and wine since 1981. On the slopes of Epanomi, a few kilometers outside Thessaloniki, the particularly well-tended vineyard surrounds the modern winery, where the Estate's famous wines are produced. The cultivation of the vineyard is carried out with particular care and with continuous experimentation in the study of Greek and international known and unknown varieties. The evolution of technology goes hand in hand with tradition throughout the course of viticulture and winemaking. The goal is to produce quality wines - from the privately owned vineyard - with the typical characteristics of the microclimate (terroir) of the area.
At the heart of the winery, the Gerovassiliou Wine Museum presents aspects of the world's viticultural history. The creation of the Wine Museum and the implementation of various activities - visits, tastings, educational programs, seminars, publications - jointly contribute to the transmission of wine culture.
Biblia Chora Estate
a historic wine region
Ktima Biblia Chora is located on the slopes of Mount Pangaio, in Kokkinochori, Kavala. Its creators, oenologists Vangelis Gerovassiliou and Vasilis Tsaktsarlis, established an organic vineyard there in 1998, which today extends to 800 acres. All the wines of the Estate are produced in the modern winery, which is surrounded by the privately owned vineyard.
The great winemaking tradition of the region dates back to ancient times. In the fertile plain of Philippi, at the prehistoric site that archaeologists call Dikili Tas (Standing Stone), some of the oldest traces of viticulture and winemaking in Greece have been discovered — the oldest evidence of grape pressing for wine production, dating back to around 4,300 BC.
The Phoenicians, a people of seafarers and traders, arrived in the Pangaeos region in search of precious metals and brought from Byblos in Phoenicia a variety of grape known as the “Biblia vine”. From it the ancient Greeks produced the famous “Bibli Wine”. Thus, the region became known as "Biblia Chora," as mentioned in the writings of Hesiod, Theocritus and Michael Psellos.
Today, Ktima Biblia Chora continues this centuries-old tradition, creating wines that express the character of the place, the knowledge of the creators and the living history of Pangaio.
Dyo Ipsi Estate
a diverse vineyard
Our deep love and dedication to good wine led us to a special place, in the wild and authentic landscape of the Peloponnese. There, between two successive slopes that embrace the land with different altitudes, lies the vineyard of Dyo Ipsi Estate.
The name of the Estate is inspired by the characteristic topography of the vineyard, which “flows” like a wave over these two slopes, creating a landscape of rare natural beauty. The cultivation follows the standards of organic agriculture in a virgin area of the prefecture of Ilia, near the current location of ancient Ilida — a land with a glorious past and blessed nature. Most of the work, including the harvest, is done manually, with absolute respect for the vine and the environment. At the heart of the Estate, an old olive grove coexists with the vineyard, capturing the natural bounty of the Peloponnese and inspiring the creation of four fine wines and an extra virgin olive oil from the Koroneiki variety.
Dyo Ipsi Estate aspires to create high-quality wines deeply connected to their place of origin, nature and history.
the hidden gem of Goumenissa
Titos Small Estate is located at the foot of Mount Paiko, near Goumenissa. Titos Eftychidis planted a 40-hectare vineyard here in 1972 with the varieties Xinomavro, Negosca, Cabernet Sauvignon, Limnio and Viognier. In 2018, the Estate passed into the hands of oenologists Vangelis Gerovassiliou and Vassilis Tsaktsarlis, who continue their work with respect for the history of the place and the local varieties. Today, the Estate’s organic vineyards, totaling 270 hectares, extend around the winery in the Dio Potamia area and in selected vineyards in Gerakona, Filyria and Pentalofos — among the best zones of the PDO Goumenissa.
The cultivation is carried out according to the principles of organic farming and with respect for the specificities of each region. Most of the work, including the harvest, is carried out manually. The mild microclimate of Goumenissa, with the cool winds from Paiko and the warm summers, contributes to the creation of high quality wines that express the authentic character of the place.
Mikro Ktima Titos
an island unlike any other
Mikra Thira is the first and only winery on Thirasia, the small and quiet island of the Cyclades that separated from Santorini after the great volcanic eruption of the 17th century BC. Surrounded by the wild volcanic beauty and serenity of the landscape, Mikra Thira cultivates autochthonous, low-yield vines in both Thirasia and Santorini. With organic practices and a deep respect for the land, the winery creates wines of exceptional purity and precision, all with the PDO Santorini designation. The vineyards are located in selected locations on the two islands, planted with autochthonous vines — many of which are over 80 years old — and formed using the traditional “kouloura” technique, where the vines are woven into a basket shape close to the ground to protect them from the winds.
The low yield per acre, the special care and the authenticity of the volcanic soil produce wines that clearly capture the character of Santorini and Thirassia — places small in size, but big in history and soul.

Zacharias Winery – Tradition & Innovation in Nemea
Zacharias Winery is the creation of one of the oldest winemaking families of Nemea, the agronomist and winemaker Elias Zacharias. With deep roots in tradition and high scientific knowledge, the winery currently produces more than 25 labels, having received multiple distinctions in Greece and abroad.
Its philosophy is based on the belief that wine is born in the vineyard. Modern cultivation methods are applied with absolute respect for the environment and the grape, creating wines that stand out for their quality, authenticity and excellent value for money. Guided by tradition but also by continuous evolution, Zacharias Winery constantly invests in technological modernization, research and experimentation, combining experience and scientific training to create wines of high standards.
Our vision is to highlight local varieties – and especially Sklava, which is the winery’s flagship variety – as protagonists of the Greek and international wine scenes, producing wines with character, quality and respect for the environment. Our vineyards extend over 400 acres, with 300 acres in Nemea and 100 in Mantineia.
At the “Douramani” location is the only single vineyard of Sklava, a variety that was revived thanks to the efforts of Elias Zacharias. In the historical location of "Tsindari", next to the acropolis of ancient Fliounta, the oldest Agiorgitiko is cultivated, planted since 1960. Around the village of Leontio, the family's place of origin, the Mavrodaphne, Kydonitsa and Malagouzia varieties grow, completing the mosaic of Zacharias terroir.
